DAY TRIP FUNZI ISLAND 

Funzi Island is a settlement in Kenya’s Kwale County. Funzi consists of four mangrove covered islands where Funzi Island is the main island and the only one with permanent inhabitants. There is one village on the island with approximately 1500 members of the Shirazi Tribe. The absolute majority are Muslims and sustain on fishing and agriculture. The archipelago is located in Kwale district and is less known to tourists than the nearby Diani Beach.

Our driver will pick you from your hotel at 07.30am then drive through coconut palms, cashew nut farmers and sugarcane farmers to Funzi Island; which is located 40km south of Diani.

Ride in a boat with adventure-filled day through amazing mangroves. Explore the meandering estuary of the Ramisi River that is home of crocodiles and rare beautiful birds. Stop at the sand bank across the bay for a stroll and swim or even explore the Funzi Village.

Lunch time enjoy delicious sea foods at Funzi restaurant in a genuine Swahili house our specialities:- crab, grilled fish, coconut rice and non seafood menus we offer chicken or beef, Vegetarian dishes are also catered for on a request Later return to mainland at 03.00pm with a boat before driving back to your hotel arriving around 04.00pm
