Pick up from your Nairobi Hotel or from the airport at 8.00 a.m and drive to the Nairobi animal orphanage. The Nairobi Animal Orphanage is located in the Nairobi National Park. It serves a treatments and rehabilitation centre for wild animals. The Orphanage hosts lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, serval cats, rare Sokoke cats, warthogs, leopards, various monkeys, baboons and buffalo. Various birds can also be viewed including parrots, guinea fowls, crowned cranes and ostriches. The visit will last about two hours.

Proceed to the nearby Daphne elephant orphanage. The David Sheldrick wildlife trust is a haven for injured elephants and rhinoswhere they are treated and released back to the wild. This also is a place for orphaned baby elephants, rhinos and other animals where they are taken care of until they are able to survive on there own in the wild. The visiting time is between 11.00 a.m. and 12.00 Noon for the public. For foster parents, the visiting hours are between 5 and 6.00 p.m.

At midday, depart the elephant orphanage and proceed to visit the Karen Blixen museum and the Kazuri beads factory. Lunch will follow thereafter at the Tamambo restaurant.

Finish your day in the evening at the Giraffe Center. The African Fund for the Endangered species was Founded in 1979 as a core breeding centre of the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe and further escalated its conservation efforts in 1983, opening up an outstanding environmental education centre for the Kenyan youth. As of now, A.F.E.W (K) Ltd. – Giraffe Centre deals with breeding of the endangered Rothschild giraffe, Ecology Trips, Training of Trainers Workshops, National Environmental Competitions, Funding Micro-projects, Monitoring and Evaluation, Production of resource materials among other environmental conservation activities.

The order of the afternoon activities can be modified to best suite the timings for particular attractions depending on the day you will visiting.
