3-Day Shimba Hills & Tsavo East Safari – Rainforest, Waterfalls & Wildlife Adventure
Escape the beach and discover two of Kenya’s most spectacular wildlife destinations on this unforgettable 3-day safari. Begin your journey in the lush Shimba Hills National Reserve, a tropical rainforest renowned for its scenic landscapes, rare sable antelopes, elephants, and the stunning Sheldrick Falls, where a guided nature hike takes you through the forest to a refreshing waterfall.
Continue to the vast wilderness of Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s oldest and largest national parks, famous for its iconic red elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and breathtaking open savannah. Enjoy thrilling game drives, comfortable lodge or tented camp accommodation, spectacular sunsets, and the chance to encounter an incredible variety of wildlife in their natural habitat.
This safari combines rainforest scenery, waterfalls, cultural encounters, and classic African wildlife, making it the perfect short adventure from Diani Beach or Mombasa.
Our driver guide will pick you from Hotel at 11.00am, and drive to Shimba hills. On your way you will see different cultures and indigenous people of the southern coast of Kenya. Drive towards the tropical rain forest is 35km from Diani Beach. Arrive at Shimba Green lodge at 11.45am, situated in the top of the tropical rain forest. Have lunch and relax for an hour and enjoying nice view in restaurants or at Pool side. 01.00pm you drive to park game drive as we head for the hike down to the Sheldrick falls. Amazing water fall from the heart of the Mkurumuji river,flowing with cold water. Swimming is ideal, going down is 2.5km hike with an armed ranger. After enjoying the water falls. Back on top of Hill, have cold drink to cool you off. Game drive have a chance to spot Elephants, Buffaloes, Sable antelopes , Heart Beast , Zebra , Warthogs, Bush Bucks, Water bucks, 05.30pm, Arrive at Pengo Hill, Highest point on the ridge, Pop a bottle of some prime bubbly as you watch the sun set. 06.30pm drive back to lodge for Dinner and overnight.
Meal plain: Lunch and dinner
07.00am Exit lodge after a heavy breakfast and head to Tsavo East National park. Pass through tens of villages as you drive the rough terrain. 10.30am Arrived at Bachuma Gate, Enter the park and start game drive as you head for the Lodge/Camp. Have a chance spot Lions, red Elephants of Tsavo, Buffaloes, Impalas, Zebras, Giraffes, Hippos , Gazelles , Gerenuks , Different bird species. 12.30pm, is when you arrive at Lodge/Camp for check-in and have lunch. After lunch relax till 04.00pm. Evening game drive. More likely to see the big cats since the sun is setting, lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, may be spotted, 06.00pm back at Lodge/Camp for dinner and overnight.

06.00am, Early morning game drive till 08.30am, Back at lodge for heavy breakfast, 09.15am Exit Lodge/Camp with a game drive as you heading to Gate, 11.00am, Exit Park and drive back to your Beach hotel, Arriving around 04.00pm
