Located in the central highlands, the Aberdare Range is renowned for its dramatic waterfalls, bamboo forests, alpine moorlands, diverse wildlife, and breathtaking mountain scenery.
This active safari combines guided hikes, nature walks, and scenic drives, allowing you to explore remote trails, pristine forests, and panoramic viewpoints. Trek to the magnificent Karuru Falls, hike to Wanderi, and conquer Satima Peak, the highest point in the Aberdare Range at 4,001 metres above sea level.
Along the way, you may encounter buffaloes, bushbucks, giant forest hogs, colobus monkeys, elephants, and a rich variety of birdlife while enjoying the cool mountain climate and peaceful wilderness.
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Drive through Kenya's beautiful central highlands to Nyeri, the gateway to the Aberdare Range. After checking into your lodge or camp, enjoy a guided walk around Nyeri town, where you can experience the local culture and visit nearby attractions.
Spend the evening relaxing before dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, drive to Mweiga Gate, the main entrance to Aberdare National Park.
Begin your guided hike through lush forests and open moorlands towards the spectacular Karuru Falls, Kenya's tallest waterfall, cascading approximately 273 metres in three impressive stages. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by breathtaking scenery before continuing your exploration of the park. Return to your camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, set off on an exciting 16-kilometre guided hike to Wanderi, following scenic mountain trails through bamboo forests, heathlands, and open moorlands.
Take in magnificent views of the surrounding valleys while enjoying opportunities to spot wildlife and unique Afro-alpine vegetation.
A picnic lunch will be served along the trail before returning to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Rise early for the highlight of your adventure—a guided trek to Satima Peak, the highest point in the Aberdare Range at 4,001 metres.
The summit rewards hikers with spectacular panoramic views across the Aberdare Mountains, the Great Rift Valley, and, on clear days, Mount Kenya.
After enjoying the summit, descend to the Wanderi trailhead before returning to your accommodation.

After breakfast, leave the park through Wanderi Gate and begin your return journey to Nairobi.
